Arrival in Madrid and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of the Barrio de las Letras, home to literary figures like Lope de Vega, Cervantes, and Quevedo. Visit the Lope de Vega House-Museum and explore historic sites like Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor. End the day with a traditional dinner and vibrant flamenco show. Overnight in Madrid.

Early transfer to San Millán de la Cogolla in La Rioja, the birthplace of the Spanish language. Visit the Monastery of Suso, where the first written Spanish and Basque examples are found, followed by the Monastery of Yuso, known for its archives and history. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, savoring La Rioja’s cuisine. In the afternoon, enjoy free time to explore the region’s natural beauty. Overnight in Santo Domingo de la Calzada.

In the morning, depart for Santo Domingo de Silos in Burgos to visit the Benedictine monastery, known for its Romanesque cloister and Gregorian chanting tradition. After lunch, head to Valladolid, a key city in Spanish history. Visit the Cervantes House Museum, where Miguel de Cervantes once lived. In the evening, stroll through Plaza Mayor, one of Europe’s first. Overnight in Valladolid.

In the morning, tour Valladolid’s main attractions, including the Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de la Asunción and the National Museum of Sculpture. Enjoy a walk along the Pisuerga River. Tour the Old and New Cathedrals, showcasing Gothic and Renaissance art. See the Casa de las Conchas, decorated with over 300 seashells. In the afternoon, enjoy free time to explore the city and its vibrant student atmosphere. Overnight in Salamanca.

Transfer to Ávila, a UNESCO World Heritage city. Start with the Ávila Walls, the best-preserved in Europe, followed by a visit to the Ávila Cathedral, one of Spain’s first Gothic cathedrals, and the Monastery of the Incarnation, linked to Saint Teresa. Enjoy free time for panoramic views from Cuatro Postes or to try Yemas de Santa Teresa. Overnight in Ávila.

Departure to Alcalá de Henares, a UNESCO World Heritage city and Cervantes’ birthplace. Visit the Cervantes Birthplace Museum, then explore the University of Alcalá and the Magistral Cathedral. Return to Madrid in the afternoon for a farewell dinner and the last chance to explore the city. Overnight in Madrid.

Free time according to flight schedules for shopping or enjoying a stroll through Retiro Park. Then, transfer to the airport for the return flight. End of the trip.
